Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is a well-known American actor. She is most famously known for her role appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents divorced to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. In the following year, she was awarded an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was a main cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace was keen to pursue film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character, The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is an updated version of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who is both the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in the films of her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. After a string of commercially successful films, such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In recognition of her role as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. The actress also was an Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action thriller from 2013, a musician on the set of Frank (2014), and The lead for the lead role in The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in 2018. Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she won the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
