Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16she already landed several television roles, including the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her performance as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historical war film), was critically and highly rated commercially. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning actress. Alexandra is well known for her work in numerous important projects in both the US as well as internationally. Among others, these projects include the British biographical films, the British Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she has been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in at the Cannes Film Festival.
